FootballAlex Iwobi Delivers Rallying Call to Everton Stars As Club Loses 5th Straight Away Game Under Lampard
- Alex Iwobi insists Everton have to keep fighting to avoid relegation as the Toffees suffered their fifth straight loss away from home against West Ham
- The Super Eagles star believes Everton are capable of grinding out results when they are at their best
- However, Everton's defeat against West Ham leaves them languishing just three points above the relegation zone
Everton manager Frank Lampard has lost all five away games since succeeding Rafa Benitez but Alex Iwobi believes now is not the time to give up as his club must keep fighting to avoid relegation, Mirror reports.
In 11 games since taking over from Rafa Benitez, Lampard has won four, losing seven games in the process.
Everton also suffered their 5th straight away defeat in their 2-1 defeat to West Ham at the London stadium as they remain in the 17th spot three points above the relegation zone.
But Alex Iwobi, who scored a memorable winner against Newcastle in the last league outing at home, says his club has to keep fighting to avoid relegation this season.
He said: 'I think the international break came at the right time.
'Some players went away and showed good form. The guys who stayed here worked hard. We are taking every game now like a final. Seamus [captain Coleman] has told us to fight and show people that Everton are not soft and are not going down.
'The boss has tried to boost the mood. Training has been very good. The standard has been very high so I feel like everyone is ready.
'If we fight, we are capable of competing with anyone. It starts in training. Be the best you can, then transfer it into matches.
'I won't lie, relegation has been mentioned once or twice, but not a lot. We're trying to look forward, not behind. We don't want to play with fear but impose ourselves. We want to stay in the Premier League.'

Fascinating facts about the best offensive midfielders in the world right now
FootballEarlier Sports Brief reported that West Ham climbed back into the race for a top-four finish in the Premier League as Jarrod Bowen sealed a 2-1 win against Everton that kept the visitors deep in relegation trouble on Sunday.
David Moyes' side moved up to fifth place thanks to Bowen's second-half winner at the London Stadium.
Aaron Cresswell's fine free-kick put West Ham ahead in the first half before Mason Holgate equalised soon after the interval.
Bowen, back after a month out with a foot injury, restored West Ham's lead and Everton were effectively out of the contest when Michael Keane was sent off midway through the second half.
Everton's fifth defeat in their last six league games leaves them languishing just three points above the relegation zone.
