Former Super Eagles striker Bartholomew Ogbeche has won the Indian Super League (ISL) title for the second consecutive year.
The 37-year-old won the title with Hyderabad FC this season after his club defeated Kerala Blasters 3-1 in the penalty shoot-out with the final ending 1-1 in the regulation and extra time.
This was Ogbeche's second ISL title in two seasons and Hyderabad's first league title.
Hyderabad FC goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani was the hero on the night as he made three stunning saves in the penalty shoot-out.
Last year, Ogbeche was an integral part of Mumbai City's title-winning campaign but he left the club to join Hyderabad.
Ogbeche adds to his records
With his triumph with Hyderabad, Ogbeche becomes only the fifth player in the history of the league to bag the trophy twice in two years.
Ogbeche scored 18 goals in Hyderabad's winning run to finish the season as the top scorer.
Ogbeche becomes the all-time leading goal scorer in the Indian Super League
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Bartholomew Ogbeche has recorded his name in the history books of the Indian Super League by becoming the all-time highest goalscorer with 49 goals.
Ogbeche started his football career at Nigerian Professional Football League side Lobi Stars, but he did not play for the first team before travelling to Europe.
Just like many other stars, Ogbeche crossed over to Europe and luck shined on him as the Nigerian was signed by Paris Saint-Germain in 2001. He went on to play 57 games for the club netting 6 goals.
Ogbeche was among the Super Eagles players who played at the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan and featured in 11 games for the three-time African champions netting 3 goals.
