Interim manager of the Black Stars Otto Addo has underlined the value of teamwork following Ghana's qualification to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Otto Addo, a former Ghana international, was appointed as coach of the Black Stars on an interim basis following the sack of Milovan Rajevac.
Despite his brief time with the team, Otto's handwriting was visible in the team's performance as he managed to instil his tactics and style of play on the team within a short span of period.
The 46-year-old trainer masterminded a scoreless draw in the first leg of the West African derby staged at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium when the narrative before the game was, "Ghana will suffer a heavy pounding at the hands of the Super Eagles."
He followed it up with yet another tactical masterclass, especially with his in-game management skills making three changes at half-time to hold the Nigerians in check as Ghana held on to qualify on away goals.
After the incredible achievement in faraway Abuja, Addo took time to share his glory with past managers of the Black Stars while also heaping praise on the Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku.
“Thank you to Kurt Okraku for giving me this opportunity. Also to the backroom, who are always supporting me. Milovan Rajevac and C.K Akonnor all belong to this [qualifying to the WC] We did this together and for the players who are not here.” Otto Addo said after the game as quoted by Joy News.
