Four out of five coaches have led their countries in Africa for the 2022 World Cup

Four coaches from Africa have made history by qualifying their countries for the 2022 World Cup which is set to be hosted in Qatar.

Ghana's Otto Addo, Rigobert Song of Cameroon, Senegal's Afcon winning coach Aliou Cisse and Jalel Kadri of Tunisia are the tacticians from the continent to qualify for the global showpiece.

Bosnian coach Vahid Halilhodžić is the only non-African gaffer to head to the World Cup after he led Morocco stroll past DR Congo 4-1 at the Mohammed V stadium.

The North Africans qualified 5-2 on aggregate after the two-legged game.

Cameroon are heading to the Qatar World Cup after what is possibly the latest and most dramatic goal in qualification history.

In a drama-packed match, Cameroonian forward Karl Toko Ekambi swept home a 124th-minute winner, leaving Algeria players, fans and the manager in utter disbelief.

Otto Addo took to the helm in February this year following Ghana's shambolic performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

In his first game in charge as interim manager for the Black Stars, Addo guided the Black Stars to make a return to the global showpiece after missing out on the last edition.

Thomas Partey's opening goal gave the Black Stars an early lead in Abuja against Nigeria before William Troost Ekong equalized through the penalty spot in front of a full capacity crowd in Abuja.

Ghana qualified on the away goal rule, after the first leg ended 0-0 in Kumasi.

It is the fourth time Ghana will be making an appearance at the global football event, having previously been there in 2006, 2010 and 2014.

Senegal continued their recent dominance over Egypt after they qualified for the World Cup at the expense of the North African giants.

Liverpool forward Sadio Mané scored the winner as the Teranga Lions defeated the Pharaohs once again in a thrilling penalty shootout in Dakar.

The match was level at full time as Senegal won the second leg encounter 1-0 thanks to a Boulaye Dia goal.

This is the second time coach Aliou Cisse is leading the AFCON winners to the Mundial after he masterminded therr qualification four years ago in Russia
