  • Bale had the perfect response to his critics after a masterful performance in the World Cup playoff clash against Austria
  • The 32-year old scored twice to help his side to a 2-1 win as Wales proceeded to the final
  • Only 24 hours ago, a scathing article was published criticizing Bale’s attitude as a Real Madrid player

Gareth Bale had a revenge moment on Thursday night as he showed Real Madrid exactly what they would be missing out from next season after his masterclass against Austria.

Bale, 32, scored a quite stunning freekick to give his nation the lead and he completed his brace after halftime in a solo performance that keep Wales on course to secure a ticket to Qatar.

In the heat of celebrations for one of his goals, Bale could not help but hit back at stinging claims made against him by a Spanish newspaper.

On Thursday, a Marca journalist published a scathing piece labelling Bale a “parasite” at Real Madrid and the Welshman was accused of consuming Los Blancos’s money without having much impact at the club.

This is despite the fact that Bale has won an impressive 14 trophies with Real Madrid since joining the Spanish giants in 2013.

While facing the camera directly during celebrations, bale appeared to say something to the effect of “S*ck that.”

After the game, however, Bale attempted to play down his animated celebrations when asked whether his celebrations were aimed at anyone.

"No. I don't need to send a message, honestly. It's a waste of my time, it's just disgusting." He said.

He however also added:

"They should also be ashamed of themselves." It'll be interesting how they respond, if at all.

Bale’s current contract at Real Madrid expires at the end of the season but he will not be too worried about that at least for now as he is currently focused on helping Wales to the World Cup.

Wales will have to wait for the delayed game between Scotland and Ukraine to be played before they learn their opponents for the final.
