Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has sent a comforting message to the fans ahead of Nigeria games in the World Cup qualifiers.
Partey is set to captain the Black Stars against the Super Eagles in the absence of substantive skipper Andre Ayew who will miss the clash due to suspension.
Ghana will first host the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, March 25 for the first leg before heading to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja for the reverse tie on Tuesday, March 29.
Speaking ahead of the first-leg game, Partey reassured Ghana national team fans that the players will do everything they can in order to come out on top.
“We will do our best to qualify. We believe in ourselves, we believe in each other and we are confident we can qualify,” Partey said during Ghana's press conference on Thursday.
Partey will lead the team on Friday with the hopes of securing a World Cup spot for Ghana.
The Arsenal star has been in a rich vein of form, winning the February Player of the Month at the English club. He was also named in team of the week back-to-back.
Ghana host Nigeria at the Baba Yara sports stadium on Friday before travelling to Abuja four days later for the second leg.
