No fewer than five foreign-based Super Eagles players have arrived at the national team camp ahead of their back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho this month.

England-based stars Ola Aina, William Troost-Ekong and Semi Ajayi are among the early arrivals while Galatasaray duo Oghenekaro Etebo and Henry Onyekuru have also boosted the camp with their presence.

Team captain Ahmed Musa has also reported to camp - though he has been less-busy all along due to his club-less status since October 2020.

The Three-time African champions currently sit atop of Group L with eight points after four games and will hope for victory in their two remaining games to make the finals in Cameroon next year.

Benin are one point behind Nigeria and will need to deny them maximum points after their encounter this weekend if they must stand a chance to qualify for the competition next year.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigerian attacker Simeon Nwankwo was on target for his Italian League club FC Crotone in their 3-2 defeat to Bologna at the Stadio Ezio Scida earlier this weekend.

The 28-year-old forward who has made 28 Serie A appearances for The Pythagoreans found the back of the net from the spot in the 40th minute.

His goal came eight minutes after Junior Messias had opened the scoring for the home team all in the opening half of the encounter.
