Super Eagles Star Makes Big and Urgent Statement Ahead of World Cup Play-off Against Ghana

Calvin Bassey has confirmed his readiness and that of his Super Eagles teammates for the coming two battles against the Black Stars of Ghana in final 2022 World Cup play-off.

Super Eagles players have arrived at the Abuja camp and started training on Tuesday evening, 22 March, with coach Eguavoen monitoring all activities of his wards.

The Super Eagles have campaigned previously three times in the FIFA World Cup and they have not been able to qualify from the Group stage.

At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Super Eagles had the chance to qualify for the knockout if they had drew or won against Argentina, but they lost the tie 2-1.

According to the report on Complete Sports, Calvin Bassey explained that he is ready to help Nigeria beat Ghana and qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

Calvin Bassey who currently plays for Rangers also explained that the two games against Ghana would be challenging for the Super Eagles.

“It’s a massive game. I’m just focusing on how I can help the team, focus on what to do, what my roles are going to be.
“It is going to be a test, we know they are a good team, we also have good players and a good team
“It will be a good match, and hopefully, we can win the tie.”

Ademola Lookman arrives Super Eagles Camp ahead of Ghana showdown

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how the camp of the Super Eagles continues to bubble as 23 players have arrived for the double-header against Ghana including Leicester City winger Ademola Lookman.

Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that the 24-year-old who recently switched allegiance from England to Nigeria has arrived the team’s camp in Abuja.

The former England youth player Ademola Lookman got his application to switch nationality from England to Nigeria approved by the world’s football governing body, FIFA last month.

Lookman who featured for England Under-19 and Under-21 youth international was also part of the squad that won the Under-20 World Cup in 2017.
