Premier League giants Chelsea will face Spanish side Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinal following the draw by UEFA which was done on Friday afternoon, 18 March.

The two encounters between the Blues and Los Blancos will definitely be challenging battles as the likes of Eden Hazard and goalkeeper Courtois will be making a return to Stamford Bridge.

Since these two footballers left Chelsea, this will be the second time they will be facing their former club in fight to reach the semifinal of the Champions League.

How did Real Madrid get to the quarterfinal of the Champions League?

Real Madrid lost the first leg of their knockout round against Paris Saint-Germain 1-0, but Karim Benzema was in the best form of his life in the return tie netting three goals as his side won 3-1.

Kylian Mbappe scored the first goal for Paris Saint-Germain with the hope that they would get good result, but Real Madrid produced stunning comeback.

In other fixtures, Manchester City will be facing Atletico Madrid, Villarreal up against Bayern, while Liverpool will tackle Benfica.

Having gotten a 1-1 draw in the first encounter in Spain, the expectation of all Manchester United fans was that their players would soar at Old Trafford and zoom to the quarterfinal.

However, things did not go as expected as Renan Lodi's 41st-minute strike condemned Manchester United to a 1-0 defeat and crashed out 2-1 on aggregate against Atletico Madrid.
