How it happened
Coming up against an in-form Newcastle United, Lampard was fully aware of the task at hand as the Magpies had won six of their last seven league matches in a run that afforded them some space in the relegation battle.
Everton were far from brilliant in the game but Newcastle were no better on the day either as they failed to test Jordan Pickford.
The game looked to be meandering towards a draw, with Everton barely clinging on after Allan was given his marching orders for a strong challenge on Saint-Maximin.
However, in the ninth minute of added time, Everton fans were sent to delirium after Dominic Calvert-Lewin led a counter-attack before feeding Alex Iwobi, who neatly finished in the bottom corner.
With less than 10 games of the season to go, Lampard is optimistic there is more to come from his side after the performance.
