According to the Daily Mail, the yet to be identified man evaded security before storming the pitch.

Pitch invader tries to handcuff himself to the posts

Whereas most pitch invaders have appeared to have no idea of what to do once they make it to the turf, this one seemed to have a plan.

Clad in a white t-shirt, black pants and brown boots, the man raced towards Alisson Becker's goalpost where he tried to handcuff himself - leaving the Liverpool shot-stopper mystified.

Confused about what to do, Becker could be seen shouting for the attention of the referee before the match was paused momentarily.

Fortunately, the security guards responded in time and managed to get hold of the trespasser before they whisked him away.

Arsenal suffers defeat at home

Meanwhile, the clash eventually finished in a 2-0 defeat for Arsenal as they took a blow in their top four dreams.

Second-half goals grom Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino sunk a resilient Arsenal side who had held firm to force the Reds to a goalless draw at the break.

Liverpool's vital win saw them close the gap on Man City and now have just a point separating them and the league leaders.
