- African champions Senegal will announce their squad to face Egypt in the World Cup play-off this week
- Coach Aliou Cisse will be announcing his squad for their first game since winning AFCON on Friday, March 18
- The Teranga Lions will face Egypt in a two-legged game for a place at the World Cup in Qatar later this year
Newly crowned African champions, Senegal are expected to make no changes to the squad that won AFCON 2021 ahead of their World Cup play-off against Egypt.
Senegal beat the same opponents on penalties to win the tournament in Egypt earlier this year, and will battle it out for one of Africa's slot at the World Cup in Qatar.
The Senegalese Football Federation has confirmed that coach Aliou Cisse will meet the press on Friday, March 18 to announce his squad for the play-offs.
"National coach Aliou Cissé will face the press this Friday, March 18 for publication of the list of players selected for the double confrontation against Egypt (25/03 in Cairo and 29/03 in Dakar)," a statement from the Senegalese Football Federation read.
Aliou Cisse is expected to recall most of the players that made history in Cameroon last month as they seek to make a return to the World Cup.
However, Egypt will have revenge on their minds before the encounter in Cairo on March 25, 2022 and March 29.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Sadio Mané played a brotherly role by consoling a visibly distraught Mohamed Salah after Senegal defeated Egypt to win the Africa Cup of Nations last month in Cameroon.
Salah broke down in tears as he watched his Liverpool teammate convert the winning penalty for Senegal, losing his second AFCON finals.
However, Mané's words to Salah calmed him down and the Egyptian will be hoping to be lucky the next time.

In photos posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, the 32-year-old shared the moment with the excited fans.
