UEFA has suspended all Russian teams from competing, but the broadcast contracts in Russia are yet to be yanked off, meaning Champions League will be shown in the country.

A number of football bodies have distanced themselves from Russia, but UEFA has not taken such steps when it comes to broadcast rights.

Daily Mail reports that the European governing body have banned Russian teams from their competitions and cancelled a lucrative sponsorship deal with Gazprom, the state-owned energy company. Despite that, Putin has made orders which means that all three of UEFA's club competitions, including the Champions League, will be shown on a Russia channel which is owned by Gazprom Media.

Chelsea will be aiming to join Liverpool and Manchester City in the last eight of the competition.

More sanctions await Abramovich

Meanwhile, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich faces more trouble as the European Union is in the process of seizing all assets owned by the Russian.

This comes in response to Russia's military invasion of Ukraine which has been condemned by world authorities.

Abramovich has now moved his private jet and relocated his yacht as the Russian awaits being sanctioned by the EU.

Domestic workers unable to access Abramovich’s mansion

Sports Brief earlier reported that Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich continues to feel the effects of the UK government's sanctions after it was revealed his cleaners were not allowed access into his mansion.

The Kensington Palace Gardens is believed to be worth a whooping £90million and is located near Hyde Park in central London.

Abramovich is one of seven oligarchs to be targeted as the UK government continues to step up its response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
