Pep Guardiola has blamed the grass following Man City's disappointing goalless draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

However, Guardiola's men were unable to bag the three points as they were frustrated by the Eagles.

Premier League title race thrown wide open

Despite dominating the proceedings, City were unable to find a breakthrough during the Monday night, March 14, clash.

The result threw the Premier League title race wide open, with Liverpool hot on City's heels.

Just four points now separate the two teams, but Liverpool have a chance of slashing the deficit to a point when they play their match in hand against Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola takes stalk of Selhurst Park draw

Guardiola has now bizarrely blamed the grass at Selhurst Park for his side's disappointing result.

The Spaniard was cautious not to cite individual mistakes in the encounter as he insisted he was contented with his players' performance.

"We would have preferred to win of course but the game was well played. We played to win the game, we created more, the stats were there," Guardiola said as quoted by Metro UK.
"The way we played was amazing in a difficult stadium with the grass not perfect, we were there all the time, we had a good game," he added.

City, meanwhile, will be looking to make amends when they play Burnley in their next Premier League clash set for Saturday, April 2.

Olunga fires Al-Duhail to Amir Cup final

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Michael Olunga's Al-Duhail have booked a place in the final of the Amir Cup following their 3-2 win over Al Sadd.

The Harambee Stars skipper was on target during the Monday clash, with Ferjani Sassi scoring a brace.

Al-Duhail are now scheduled to battle Al-Gharafa in the final of the tournament set for Friday, March 18.
