While the action was intense on the field, off the field there was drama as well. Al Ahly were delayed entering the stadium after a group of Mamelodi Sundowns’ fans blocked the team bus.

Mamelodi Sundowns are currently investigating the matter and have promised to take action against fans found guilty.

This isn’t the first time that Mosimane has had problems with Sundowns fans. During a previous encounter between the sides, Mosimane was verbally abused by fans.

Mosimane has now blamed the hostilities on one person. As reported by The South African, Mosimane claimed that only one person was responsible, but would not say who that one person was.

“You know the person behind this. There is only one person behind all of this. But I’m strong in football and I’ve been around,” he said.

Mosimane also added that he intends to release an autobiography in the future in which he will speak out about all the issues between him and his former side, Sport24 reported.

Mosimane achieved a lot of success while with the Brazilians but the relationship became strained after he left the club.

CAF Champions League: Fallout continues as Mamelodi Sundowns investigates Al Ahly bus blockage

Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed that they will investigate an alleged incident that happened before their CAF Champions League match against Al Ahly at the FNB Stadium near Soweto, Sports Brief reported.

The Al Ahly convoy was reported to have been blockaded by sparsely-numbered Sundowns fans as it approached the venue, leading to its delay in entering the stadium's premises. The visitors revealed in a statement on the club website, before the game, that they had subsequently submitted a complaint to CAF's match commissioner.

Sundowns has since released a statement on its website, responding to Ahly's complaint by intending to investigate the incident, including taking disciplinary measures against those responsible.
