Former Ghana international Frimpong Manso has questioned the influence of Jordan Ayew in the Ghana team and believes Otto Addo could benefit from making his Black Stars attack.
The 30-year-old has struggled to find the back of the net for both club and country, scoring one goal in 24 appearances for Crystal Palace this season.
Ayew last scored for the Black Stars in March 2021 against São Tomé and Príncipe in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
He has since gone five matches without scoring for his national team and according to Manso, the former Marseille forward should be left out of the squad to face the Super Eagles later this month.
Frimpong-Manso told the Graphic Sports:
“Our biggest headache is the attack, where Jordan Ayew has proved that he cannot be relied upon to handle it, hence the need for the Black Stars coach to look for other options as we meet Nigeria in our last World Cup qualifier,
Manso was part of Ghana's squad that lost the 1992 AFCON final to Ivory Coast in Dakar. He currently the head coach division one club Asokwa Deportivo.
Meanwhile, Jordan Ayew has scored 18 goals in 73 caps for Ghana.
Ghana will take on Nigeria on March 25 at the Baba Yara Stadium before travelling to Abuja for the return game on March 29.
The winner of the tie will book a place in the 2022 World Cup scheduled to be hosted in Qatar later this year.

Jordan Ayew Provides Assist in Crystal Palace 4:1 Win at Watford
Sports Brief earlier reported that Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew played an influential role as he helped Crystal Palace to end a poor run of seven matches without a win.
In a game against Watford at the Vicarage Road Stadium, the striker started the match from the bench and he was introduced in the 73rd minute to replace Michael Olise.
Five minutes to end the second half, Jordan Ayew showed his class when he brilliantly assisted in-form attacker Wilfred Zaha to register the Eagles' third goal in the game.
