Bamba Dieng, a key figure in Senegal's AFCON success last month, has opened up on his relationship with compatriot and Liverpool star Sadio Mané.
The 21-year-old Olympique Marseille attacker sees Mané as a role model and hopes one day the Liverpool star will join him at the French club.
Bamba Dieng, in an interview with Maritima disclosed the 29-year-old Liverpool forward has huge admiration for Marseille and follows them religiously.
“He is an exceptional player. Sadio is someone who works hard in training and it shows in his matches. He is someone who gives us a lot of advice too," said Dieng as quoted by 13 Football.
"In training, on penalties, he calls me, offers me ideas. He wants us to move forward, to progress," he added.
"He likes OM a lot too. He told me that he watched all OM matches. As soon as we arrive in selection, he is happy, he talks to us about Marseille. I would love for him to join us to play here one day."
Sadio Mané was the hero of Senegal after converting the winning penalty against Egypt to win them their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations.
Bamba Dieng is one of the four Senegal players to covert their spot-kicks and was also on the score sheet in the round of 16 clash against Cape Verde.
He joined Marseille last summer from FC Basel and has been an integral member of the team.
