Kaizer Chiefs Planning to Combat Possible Inactivity Boredom Over the Next 10 Days to Stay Match Sharp

• They will return to football only on 19 March against Golden Arrows in the DStv Premiership at Soccer City
• This will have come 10 days since their last competitive fixture, an encouraging 2-1 win against Orlando Pirates last Saturday

Kaizer Chiefs has to wait 10 more days to next kick a ball in anger.

This comes after having been knocked out early in the Nedbank Cup a few weekends ago. Since then, they defeated Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby, and would dearly have loved to maintain this winning momentum.

However, as reported on Soccer Laduma, they will have to wait until 19 March for their next competitive fixture. This will be against Golden Arrows at Soccer City in the DStv Challenge.

With this inactivity in mind, the technical team is said to mix up training, rest and friendly matches to keep them sharp. The Amakhosi's opponents in these friendly fixtures have not been confirmed.

Chiefs will then again enjoy another break – this time as the FIFA calendar comes around between March 21 and 30, with coach Stuart Baxter likely to lose three players in Brandon Petersen, Bruce Bvuma and Keagan Dolly if all make the final squad for the Guinea and France friendly matches.

With the spectre of their case with the Premier Soccer League looming large, matches will soon come thick and fast for the team. Following the mini breaks, Chiefs will play a match every three days or so in the race to finish second and get that Champions League spot.
