Premier League side Chelsea are now set to lose five big players in the summer including Antonio Rudiger and Azpilicueta after owner Roman Abramovich had his assets frozen by the UK government.
This latest development has now put a ban on new contracts at Chelsea with the likes of Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen each have contracts that are set to expire in the summer.
According to the reports on UK Sun and The Times, Chelsea will not be able to keep these players in the summer due to the ban imposed on them.
Charly Musonda Jr will also depart at the end of the season when his contract expires.
The same applies to loanee Saul Niguez, with Chelsea no longer able to activate the option to buy clause they have for the midfielder.
Why did the UK government freeze Abramovich's assets?
Abramovich got his assets frozen due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine in which the United Kingdom and other world leaders are not happy about.
And being a Russian, UK government does not want Abramovich to owe any property in their country.
