Reports now suggest heads are expected to roll at Parc des Princes in the wake of the capitulation that saw a star-studded PSG side eliminated in the last 16.

According to the Daily Mail citing sources in France, both Pochettino and the club's Sporting Director Leonardo would both pay the price for the defeat.

Pochettino has since broken his silence in the wake of the heavy loss, suggesting the club will now need to move on and set its sights on the future.

"As for the future, what will be will be. We play to compete and to win. It's a hard blow to take but we have to keep a calm head now," the Argentine said.

However, it is understood the response will not go down well with the club's hierarchy, with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi believed to be fuming.

Pochettino named new PSG boss

Meanwhile, Pochettino was appointed PSG boss back in January 2021, succeeding Thomas Tuchel who had been sacked at the time.

Fresh from his Tottenham job loss, Poch penned a contract at the Parc des Princes until the summer of 2022, with the option for an extra year.

He has since been linked with the vacant Old Trafford job.
