- Mosimane does coach the Red Devils, but those in the form of Al Ahly, where his successes have made world football sit up and take notice
A Twitter user has cheekily suggested that Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane should be considered for the Manchester United managerial position.
The Red Devils were once again humiliated by Mancunian rivals Mancchester City 4-1 in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. It was another setback for current interim manager Ralf Rangnick as the club tries almost hopelessly to find its way after Sir Alex Ferguson left in May 2013.
Since then, United has gone through David Moyes, Ryan Giggs, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskaer in a now desperate search to find anyone who can fit in the footsteps of the the great Scottish mentor.
Twitter user @Hybreed_SA (LESEDI) shared a photoshopped picture of Mosimane in a Manchester United jacket, saying that only he could save the club. Mosimane's local, continental and international successes have seen his star rise as he runs out of achievements to aim for on the African continent.
There are currently several names floating around which are being touted should Rangnick step aside voluntarily at the end of the season, or simply not be appointed. They include Antonio Conte, Erik Ten Hag and Luis Enrique.
There is no telling if Mosimane will indeed send his CV to Old Trafford as is the norm when a managerial position opens up. However, Mosimane has strong views about the prospect of African coaches, particularly black ones, being given the opportunity to coach in Europe.
