- Former Nigerian international Victor Ikpeba has raised concerns over the 32-man list released by Super Eagles handler Augustine Eguavoen ahead of the World Cup play-offs against Ghana, Complete Sports reports.
Ikpeba insists that the technical department of the Super Eagles now has a selection headache following the calibre of the invited players.
Eguavoen called up the players for the double-header against the Black Stars and the tactician has been criticised over some names.
Former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo who earlier announced retirement was named; as Ogenyi Onazi who had been out of the squad for two years also made the cut.
But Ikpeba has urged Nigerian not to dwell on that list. He said on Super Sports:
“We are not the coaches. They must have seen Onazi doing something. What we want to do is see them go out and defeat Ghana and qualify for the World Cup.
“We should not dwell on the list. Egu (Eguavoen) has a selection headache. We don’t know if Chukwueze or Moses will start because we have a lot of forwards.
“Europe is different because you play together regularly. Eguavoen has a lot of work cut out, it does not matter who starts.”

The 29-year-old who already has 52 caps for Nigeria is delighted to return to the squad as he was named in the standby list for the showdown against the Black Stars.
