Nigeria and Al Hilal striker Odion Ighalo has provided the recipe for victory ahead of the FIFA World Cup play-off against Ghana.
The 32-year-old who has been in fine goalscoring form since joining Saudi side Al Hilal has been named in Augustine Eguavoen's 32-man squad.
The former Manchester United striker is part of the 9 forwards named in the squad as the Super Eagles aim to battle their Ghanaian counterparts with all their arsenals.
Ighalo, who came out of retirement last year, missed out on defending his 2019 AFCON top scorer's award after a mishap with former employers Al Shabab and is poised to make amends for his absence in Cameroon.
When asked about the fixture, Odion admitted the game will be difficult. However, he outlined a number of factors that need to be considered by the team in order to surpass the Ghana hurdle.
“You know the rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana,” Ighalo told Tidesports source as quoted by footballghana.
“Because Ghana did not do well at the AFCON, they will want to bounce back so it is going to be a tough game; but Nigeria has what it takes to go through. We just need to focus and work harder and let the game against Tunisia go. We have to play with confidence, we have to express ourselves and we have to give our best.” He concluded.
Ighalo and his teammates will head to Ghana to play the first leg on March 25 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium before hosting the Black Stars in the reverse fixture at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja four days later.
