A former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo has continued to send strong warning to the Black Stars ahead of Nigeria vs Ghana World Cup qualifier, Complete Sports reports.
The Nigerian international was on target in Al Hilal’s 4-0 win over Al Nassr in the Saudi Professional League on Thursday night.
It was an emphatic victory for Al Hilal as Ighalo who has now scored three goals in his last three games for the club also bagged an assist on the night.
The Super Eagles forward found the back of the net in the 75th minute to extend his side’s lead to four, having provided an assist in the first half.
Al Hilal has been in blistering form in recent times as this was their fourth win in a row since losing their third-place match at this year’s FIFA Club World Cup to Al Ahly.
Victory saw Al Hilal maintain fourth place on 40 points, just three points behind his former club Al Shabab, who occupy third which is the final Asian Champions League qualifying spot.
Ighalo’s impressive form in front of goal will be good news to handlers of the Super Eagles, ahead of this month’s 2022 World Cup Play-offs with the Black Stars of Ghana.
