- Frank Lampard showed some class by sending Boreham Wood manager Luke Garrard a message congratulating him for reaching the latter stages of the FA Cup

Everton boss Frank Lampard recently earned plaudits online after a classy text from him to Boreham Wood manager Luke Garrard ahead of their FA Cup fifth-round clash went viral on Thursday, March 3.
There was a general feeling of mutual respect between the two sides which are worlds apart in English tiers of football going into the game.
Earlier in the week, Boreham boss Garrard revealed he had received a text from Lampard congratulating his side for defeating Bournemouth in the previous round.
“Lampard text me on Monday evening, the night after the Bournemouth game. Forget football, forget his career, as a person that’s class,” the Boreham boss told Sunsport.
The message clearly meant a lot to the Boreham manager, who has managed the National League side for over 300 games, having taken charge of the club just six days after Jurgen Klopp joined Liverpool.
“It would be like me messaging a Sunday league manager. That number now won’t be going anywhere, not even my wife,” he added.

According to Express, the text in question was briefly shown during an ITV Sport’s coverage of the game.
The message read:
“Hi Luke, Frank Lampard here. Just wanted to congratulate you on the result yesterday.
“Purely on a coach-to-coach level, I could see what it meant to you and that’s why we do the job! Some achievements from you and the lads.
“Don’t normally touch base like this before games but just wanted to say that I, and we as a club will make you all feel very welcome when you come to Goodison.

Everton beat Boreham to advance to the next round
Once the two sides got into action on the pitch, it was Everton who emerged victorious thanks to a routine 2-0 win as Salomon Rondon scored a brace.
It was nothing short of what Everton deserved, but credit has to go to Boreham as well, who staged a masterclass on how to frustrate a far superior opponent for most of the match.
