Memphis Depay is hoping to meet United States rap icon and music legend Shawn Corey Carter, popularly known as Jay-Z in the entertainment scene.
Jay-Z is widely regarded as one of the greatest of all time after receiving several awards, including the Grammys and was recently inducted in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.
Depay, who is a rapper alongside playing football, after signing with Puma opened up on meeting the Brooklyn-born rapper.
"Hey, I hope so, man. I don’t know yet. I’m often in the States, so, I’m a big Jay-Z fan, so we will see," he is quoted as saying by Complex.
Jay-Z is affiliated with the giant sports wear brand and Memphis' association with Puma could lead to a meet with the business mogul.
"What I like about them, they have all different type of collaborations as well. But then they have also, obviously the Puma Suede, which is really dope. But also the running shoes I really like, they feel like they are fly. These ones, all-white, clean. You can wear them basically with anything, tracksuit, but I like to wear it with jeans," he said after signing the deal.
Memphis also does music on the side, and in 2020 he released his first album Heavy Stepper.
Memphis Depay announce partnership with Puma
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Netherlands and Barcelona attacker Memphis Depay has been signed by PUMA as the company's latest ambassador.
With Depay enrolling as PUMA's latest additions, he will be among the faces of the latest product from the German sportswear manufacturers, speed boot silo - the ULTRA.
