The football sector is set to witness its fair share of the ongoing digitalisation initiatives by the current government, according to the vice president of Ghana Dr Mahamadu Bawumia.

The government of the day have implemented various digitalisation initiatives across numerous sectors of the economy in a bide to introduce modernity, enhance accessibility and efficiency in their line of duty.

Owing to the long queues during matchdays, the vice president has identified a pressing need in the football sector which needs to be addressed within the shortest possible time.

Speaking at the official launch of the digitized National Assay Laboratory in Accra yesterday, March 2, Dr Bawumia disclosed the development in the 21st century is interwoven with digitalisation.

The second gentleman of the land suggested talks between the government and the NSA are at an advanced level.

“Actually, we have engaged the National Sports Authority because we need to digitalize football tickets to enter the stadium. You should be able to sit at home, buy your tickets and go and enter the stadium without any (scheming) at the gate." Dr Bawumia said as quoted by Joy News.
“We are going to do exactly that and you will see it in the next months that we will all be using our phones to buy tickets to watch football in the country.” He ended.

Hearts of Oak to renew rivalry with archenemy Asante Kotoko in President's Cup

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Hearts of Oak will clash with Asante Kotoko in a second different competition at the Accra Sports Stadium for the annual President's Cup match.

The Phobians have agreed to honour the match against the current league leaders on March 4 in Accra.

The President Cup match is played to commemorate Ghana’s republic day celebrations which will have President Akufu Addo in attendance.
