Four-time African footballer of the year Samuel Eto'o has expressed his gratitude following his induction into the Inter Milan Hall of Fame.
The 40-year-old footballer turned administrator together with a host of other Inter Milan icons were inducted in the 2021 edition of the Hall of Fame.'
Eto'o joined the Blue and Blacks in a swap deal with Zlatan Ibrahimovic with the latter heading to Barcelona in 2009 on the back of a treble-winning campaign with Guardiola's all-conquering Blaugrana.
In a post on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, Eto'o was grateful for the latest accolade he attained after a glittering playing career.
How did Eto'o fair at Inter Milan
The current president of the Cameroon Football Federation spent a hugely successful two-year period with Inter Milan.
Eto'o made 102 appearances for the Nerazurris with a goal return of 53 laced with an avalanche of trophies.
He won the Serie A title in his first season, going ahead to clinch two Coppa Italia titles, the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA World Cup trophy.
He remains the only player to achieve the treble [league, domestic cup and Champions League titles] in two successive seasons.
What is the Inter Milan Hall of Fame about
The Inter Milan Hall of Fame is a scheme for recognizing players, managers and administrators who have served the Nerazurris in the past with diligence.
The scheme is in its fourth year with the 2021 edition recognizing former Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder, Gianluca Pagliuca, and Marco Materazzi.

The former Cameroon player becomes the first African to make the illustrious list and the fourth forward to be inducted.
He is one of the four inductees of the 2021 group after his successful spell with Inter Milan, where he won the treble in the 2010 season under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho.
