Arsenal is a unique club. Yes, the Gunners have recently made the rest of the Premier League laugh, but at its core, this is still a club that tries to do things the right way, the proper way, the 'Arsenal' way. Here is a comprehensive list of the most valuable Arsenal players of all time.

The biggest and best Arsenal legends of all time

Using the most recent records, data and statistics we have compiled an article of the best. Below is the list of the top ten Arsenal legends.

10. Pat Jennings (1977-1984)

To transcend the North London rivalry, it needs a unique kind of talent. Pat Jennings was a unique skill, earning him the title of one of the greatest Arsenal legends. After 13 years with Tottenham, the Irish goalkeeper spent eight years with Arsenal. Others who have bridged the divide have been equally liked and despised, but not Jennings.

He is one of the best goalkeepers who has ever donned a pair of gloves. In a 22-year international career, he won a record 119 caps for Northern Ireland. He was voted Footballer of the Year in 1973 after playing over 1,000 games at the highest level. He won five major awards, was awarded an MBE and an OBE, and even gained a knighthood.

9. Charlie George (1969-1975)

Charlie George is an Arsenal legend and a hero. Charlie was a darling of the Highbury in the early 1970s and a performer on and off the pitch, attracting unwanted attention wherever he went. He was regarded as a "bona fide Cockney rebel." George possessed several standout attributes, including a strong work rate, ball control, and passing talents, as well as a willingness to jump into a tackle, which earned him a place on the Arsenal legends list.

8. Liam Brandy (1973-1980)

When describing the talent of one of Arsenal's legends players, Liam Brandy, it's difficult to stem the flow of superlatives. He possessed everything a midfielder could desire: abilities, vision, balance, strength, a powerful shot, and the ability to effortlessly glide past opponents.

He always had time on the ball and virtually always chose the best choice, as do all great players. His thoughts and feet were in perfect sync on the pitch.

7. David Seaman (1990-2003)

Also regarded as one of the arsenal legends of all time, Seaman made a total of 564 appearances for the Gunners over the course of 13 years, garnering numerous trophies, including three league crowns (two in the Premier League era) and four FA Cups.

He also has 75 caps for the England team and is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the history of English football.

6. Robert Pires (2000-2006)

The French winger enjoyed a wonderful tenure in north London, lighting up the Highbury pitch with some fantastic exploits as part of The Invincibles squad that won the Premier League title without losing a game from 2000 to 2006.

The gunner's legend left the club to join Villarreal due to contract disagreements, with the winger saying that he no longer considered himself as a first-choice player under Arsene Wenger.

5. Patrick Vieira (1996-2005)

Vieira won the Premier League three times and the FA Cup four times, as well as the double twice. He was also named to the Premier League PFA Team of the Year for six years in a row (1999-2004), which is incredible considering the depth of the midfield position in which Vieira competed.

Vieira, who is currently the manager of Crystal Palace, was also named Premier League Player of the Season in 2001 and is one of just three French players to do so, alongside former teammate Thierry Henry and Chelsea talisman N'Golo Kante.

4. Ian Wright (1991-1998)

The much-loved former Arsenal player turned pundit is a true Arsenal legend. Wright made an immediate impact after joining the club in 1991 after six years with Crystal Palace, scoring on his club debut and netting a hat-trick on his league debut against Southampton.

Wright scored 24 goals for Arsenal in the league and 29 overall during his time with the club. Five of the 29 goals came while wearing a Crystal Palace shirt. Wright, who possesses speed and the ability to score with both feet, could terrorize defences any day of the week.

In his sophomore season, he won his first trophy with Arsenal, the FA Cup, in a 2-1 triumph over Sheffield Wednesday, in which Wright scored the game's first goal.

3. Tony Adams (1983-2002)

Tony Adams, the club's legend, retired from professional football in 2002 at the age of 36, after 22 years with Arsenal, 14 of them as captain.

He won a slew of trophies during his time at Highbury, including two First Division crowns two Premier League titles, three FA Cups, two League Cups, and the European Cup Winners Cup. He also won the PFA Young Player of the Year Award in 1987 and was named to the top league's team of the year four times.

He also played for England on a regular basis, earning 66 caps and appearing in the 1996 UEFA European Championships and the 1998 FIFA World Cup.

2. Dennis Bergkamp (1995-2006)

Bergkamp is one of the arsenal legends defenders, dubbed the 'Non-Flying Dutchman' by Arsenal fans due to his phobia of flying; he had a shaky start to his Arsenal career, failing to score in his first six league appearances and drawing criticism from the national press.

The Dutchman was able to shake off his funk and finish the season with 11 goals in 33 games. Bergkamp, along with Ian Wright, became one of Arsenal's key goal threats in the following seasons, scoring 16 goals in 28 games in the 1997/98 double-winning season, his first trophy with the North London club.

1. Thierry Henry (1999-2006, 2012)

Henry is one of the famous arsenal legends. He was born on August 17, 1977, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest strikers of all time and one of the finest players in Premier League history. Henry scored 24 goals and added 20 assists in a season that had never seen a striker achieve such feats. The record for assists was set by the Frenchman, and it has remained unbroken for 18 years, with Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne equaling it in the 2019/20 season.

Henry was runner-up for the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2003 and 2004 while playing for the Arsenal Invincibles and was also runner-up for the Ballon d'Or in the earlier year. He was twice named PFA Players' Player of the Year, three times named FWA Footballer of the Year, and six times named to the PFA Team of the Year.

He was also named to the FIFA FIFPro World XI on one occasion and the UEFA Team of the Year on five occasions. In 2021, Henry and Alan Shearer were among the first honorees into the Premier League Hall of Fame. On Arsenal legends, FIFA 22, Thierry Henry, a midfielder, is also featured in the Icon Swaps Set 2.

Most of the biggest Arsenal legends have gone on to become successful coaches in other leagues, with Patrick Vieira currently serving as the senior coach of Crystal Palace. Other Arsenal football legends include Mikel Arteta, the current Arsenal manager who is closely following Arsene Wenger's footsteps in restoring the club's glory.
