Asante Kotoko striker Franck Etouga has won the Ghana Premier League Player of the Month award for January following his outstanding performance for the club.

The Cameroonian striker annexed two player of the match awards and scored five goals in four league appearances during the month under review as he has established himself as their reliable source for goals this campaign.

Etouga finished ahead of Ashantigold's Yaw Annor and Umar Bashiru of Karela United to clinch the monthly award.

The 20-year-old started the month with an explosive form after joining the Kumasi-based club from Cameroon Elite One League cub AS Fortuna de Mfou before the start of the season, where he scored 8 goals and registered 9 assists in 21 appearances last campaign.

He will receive a NASCO Television set and a personalized trophy.

Fans of Asante Kotoko Celebrate Wildly After Beating Dreams FC

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that a section of Asante Kotoko supporters went wild with their celebrations after the Porcupine Warriors dispatched Dreams FC on matchday 18 of the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors kicked off their second-round campaign with a win over Dreams just like they did in the first round.

After ending their first round with a goalless draw against Hearts of Oak, the Porcupine Warriors returned to winning ways on Sunday.
