David Beckham's Inter Miami have confirmed interest in signing Lionel Messi from Paris Saint-Germain.

The development was confirmed by Beckham's right-hand man at the Major League Soccer club, Jorge Mas.

Lionel Messi wanted at Inter Miami

Jorge, who co-owns Inter Miami revealed the prospect of Messi making a switch to the States to link up with them is a 'possibility.'

Jorge suggested the club will be banking on Messi's "relationship" with Beckham to make the transfer happen.

"Can it happen? Look, we’ll push. I’m an optimist at heart. Could I see that happening? It’s a possibility," he said.

Lionel Messi's PSG deal

The Barcelona icon joined PSG in the summer, ending a more than 20-year relationship with the Catalan giants.

Messi is understood to have joined the French side on a two-year deal but could force an early exit after an underwhelming first season so far in the French capital.

Incidentally, Messi has not hidden his desire to play in the States, revealing back in 2020 it would be a 'dream' to one day play in the MLS.

"I've always had the dream of playing in another league, in the United States," the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner said.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf believes Cristiano Ronaldo should consider calling time on his football career.
