Ghana star Mohammed Kudus marked his return to the starting berth with a brace and an assist as Ajax Amsterdam thrashed Heracles Almelo in a friendly.
Kudus started and played the entirety of the game and scored two great goals as Ajax run out 5-1 winners on Monday.
Injuries have limited the 21-year-old's impact at Ajax and hadn’t started for the Erik Ten Hag's senior side since November last year when they shared the spoils with Go Ahead Eagles in the Eredivisie.
However, he returned to action on Monday and was afforded 90 minutes with Ajax’s U23 side against Heracles Almelo to test his fitness.
Kudus was a joy to watch as his tricks, twists and turns did the magic for Ajax as he grabbed two goals and created another for his teammate to score.
The likes of Danilo, Jensen, and Taylor netted the other goals for the winners at the end of the friendly match.
Kudus, 21, is gradually gaining his confidence after the long injury layoff. He should soon break into the Ajax starting eleven.
Mohammed Kudus Frustrated by Injury Struggles at Ajax
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Kudus Mohammed is very frustrated by his struggles with injuries which have prevented him from becoming a key player for Ajax and Ghana.
It was barely 13 minutes of the crunch World Cup qualifying game between Ghana and South Africa when Kudus sustained a rib injury.
The Ajax midfielder crumpled as he underwent treatment, and it was easy to fear the worst as he was ruled out for three months and missed out on the African Cup of Nations.
It has, after all, been a nightmare seasons for the 20-year-old. A combination of thigh, knee and hamstring injuries had restricted him after breaking out in the Ajax team since he joined two years ago.
