DStv Premiership newcomers, Royal AM, have shot up to second on the league table after a hard-fought 2-0 win over Supersport United.
Mxolisi Macuphu opened the scoring for the KwaZulu- Natal side with Victor Letsoalo securing the points later on.
Royal AM’s win also saw them replace Kaizer Chiefs in second spot, Sowetan LIVE reported. Kaizer Chiefs earlier beat Baroka to move above Orlando Pirates on the table but were soon replaced by Royal AM.
Royal AM are only competing in their first season in the Premiership. The team previously competed in the GladAfrica Championship but made their way into the Premiership after buying out Bloemfontein Celtic, Goal.Com reported.
Fans have since come out in praise of the team, with many surprised by their performance this season.
