Meanwhile, Everton's defeat to leaders City now has them staring at relegation, with the Frank Lampard-tutored side currently a point off safety.
Norwich, who lost 2-0 to Southampton are still bottom of the log with 17 points, two behind fellow relegation-battlers, Watford.
