Legendary Hearts of Oak player, Bernard Bortey has labelled head coach of sworn rivals Asante Kotoko, Prosper Narteh Ogum as a 'great coach.'
Coach Ogum, who is in his maiden season with the Porcupine Warriors, has inspired the Kumasi-based giants to the summit of the league log, accumulating a staggering 37 points.
His side amassed the most wins (11) at the end of the first round, losing just twice and drawing the remainder to underline an impressive first round.
Eulogizing the efforts of the former West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) head coach, Bortey congratulated Ogum for a wonderful work done.
“I have followed the league and I think Asante Kotoko is doing well because they had a good preparation. Prosper Narteh has proven he is a great coach. He has gotten the materials at Kotoko and has been able to make good use of it, so I will congratulate him,” Bortey who won four league titles with the Phobians told Koforidua-based Bryt FM as quoted by Ghanasoccernet.
“I don’t even remember the last time a club accumulated such points in the first round. It happened during our time with Hearts of oak, so let’s see if Ogum and Kotoko can break it.” He added.
What has been the performance of coach Ogum at Kotoko
The 43-year-old tactician who was appointed in September 2021 has chalked 11 wins, four draws and losing just twice in 17 games in the first round of the Ghana Premier League.
His side also ranks second for the most goals scored in the Ghanaian top-flight with 26 goals in 17 games, averaging 1.5 goals per game.
