Former Roma manager, Paulo Fonseca has revealed he and his family are currently stranded in Ukraine after war broke out between the Eastern European country and Russia.
The Russian military has started attacking Ukrainian cities after President Vladimir Putin declared war against Ukraine on Thursday, February 24.
According to a report via the Daily Mail, Portuguese manager Paulo Fonseca got stranded with his wife and son after their last-ditch attempt to escape war-torn Kiev failed with their morning flight abandoned.
Fonseca had plotted an exit route from Kiev via a 10 am flight, only to see all commercial flights suspended after the war commenced.
The Portuguese manager had described the day as the worst day of his life and prayed a bomb doesn’t fall on him and his family while they remain in Ukraine
The former Shakhtar Donetsk manager is married to Ukrainian Katerina Ostroushko and they had a son together in 2019.

Meanwhile, fans around the world have sent their support to former Roma manager, Paulo Fonseca, who revealed he is currently stranded in Ukraine.
