Mané grabbed a brace in the twilight of Liverpool's comprehensive win over Leeds United at Anfield to surpass Didier Drogba as the second-highest scoring African in the English top-flight.
Reacting to Sadio Mané's goals and eventual record, manager Jurgen Klopp heaped praise on the AFCON gold medalist over his interpretation and quick thinking on the field.
"Sadio Mane’s game was probably one of his best in the way he interpreted his role," Klopp told Premier League Productions as quoted by HITC
"Playing in the centre. How he got away from his opponent and open up gaps for us. It was absolutely insane."
How did Mane break Drogba's record?
Mané reached his latest hallmark in 257 English Premier League matches.
Scoring 21 goals for Southampton and has now mustered 85 in 185 matches for Liverpool.
The Senegalese talisman managed to overtake Drogba's record in two fewer games.
He joined Liverpool in 2016 and has hit double figures in every season on Merseyside, including the two seasons he spent at Southampton.
