Man United youngster Anthony Elanga has become the club's youngest ever goalscorer in the Champions League knockout round.
Elanga set the record after he came off the bench to rescue United with an 80th-minute strike to salvage a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid.
Atletico dominate Man United
Despite missing the services of key players, Atletico Madrid were the dominant side during the first leg of the last 16 fixture staged at Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils hardly threatened the hosts as Ralf Rangnick's charges struggled to break Atletico's compact defence.
The hosts appeared on course to win the tie after taking the lead inside seven minutes of action through Joao Felix who planted a powerful header past a helpless David de Gea.
Elanga's moment of magic
However, a tactical tweak in the second half of the clash proved vital for the Premier League giants.
While Rangnick rang a couple of changes in the half, it was the introduction of Elanga in the 75th minute that made the ultimate difference.
The youngster drew his side level with his first touch of the match, finishing off Bruno Fernandes' assist brilliantly.
Elanga breaks Man United record
At 19 years and 302 days, Elanga is Manchester United's youngest ever goalscorer in the Champions League knockout stage.
The teenage sensation had only been on the pitch for four minutes but kept a cool head to score what could prove a vital goal for United.
Speaking after the match, Elanga described the moment as a dream come true.
“I've dreamt of moments like this, scoring in the Champions League against top European teams like Atletico Madrid. It's a dream come true," the promising forward said.
