FootballChelsea Beat Lille: Fans Praise N’Golo Kanté, Make Fun of Romelu Lukaku and Question the 5 Minutes Extra Time
- Chelsea fans are over the moon after The Blues easily beat Lille 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League
- Fans took to social media to praise the performance of N’Golo Kanté who once again controlled the midfield
- Chelsea fans also commented on how The Blues were not hindered by the absence of striker, Romelu Lukaku
N’Golo Kanté put on another brilliant performance in midfield as Chelsea over Lille 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League.
The Blues won the encounter at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic, Goal.Com reported.
Chelsea now takes a two-goal lead to France in three weeks, for the second leg fixture, The Guardian reported.
But while Chelsea put on an assured performance, social media couldn’t get enough of N’Golo Kanté while also pointing out how Romelu Lukaku’s absence didn’t hinder the team. The Belgian was dropped for the game.
Some fans also questioned why there were 5 minutes of extra time, considering that there weren’t major stoppages in the game.
Here's how social media responded to the game:
@SirOluwatomi:
"No Lukaku, no problem #CHELOSC"
@GregPer44138151:
"Tonight underlines exactly the reason why we play this system. If Lukaku wants to start for Chelsea he needs to adapt to our style of football. Not the other way around. Not sure how he can fit in though tbh."
@babzpaulmalum:
"I hope Lukaku has learnt some centre forward moves from Kai???"
@SommyIncrease:
"A doping test should be carried out on Ngolo Kante. A human does not run like that for 90minutes"
@OsinachiErnest:
"We are better off without Lukaku. He's a fraud "
@chelsea4lyfe93:
"Just when you think Havertz or Thiago Silva is winning the MOTM Kante storms in and puts a monstrous performance. Absolute diamond."
@iam_sconi:
"Please don't start Lukaku against Liverpool on Sunday"

How Chelsea's N’Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy’s Football Careers Have Been Intertwined Long Before Joining The Blues
The stories of French midfielder N'golo Kante and Senegalese shot-stopper Edouard Mendy are dangerously inseparable akin to Siamese twins, Sports Brief earlier reported.
The transition of both players from the French third-tier to elite football in England is well documented but unquestionably, worth revisiting.
Walking down memory lane, a fixture between AS Cherbourg and US Boulogne would produce arguably the most affable football characters presently - Mendy and Kante.
