The game against TS Galaxy is also Amazulu's first game back in the Premiership since December last year. Usuthu have been focusing on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League of late, losing one and winning one. They do come into the game on the back of a win against Horoya Athletic Club.

Amazulu won that game thanks to a brilliant goal by Memela, The South African noted.

Amazulu defender Tercious Malepe has urged his team to shift focus from the Champions League to the Premier League. He added that when facing a team battling relegation, 'you have to be very careful as they are fighting for their lives,' The Citizen reported.

Amazulu are looking to repeat last season's finish when they ended up in second place behind Mamelodi Sundowns.

TS Galaxy heads into the encounter after beating Swallows over the past weekend. TS Galaxy are now 14th in the Premiership, a point clear of the relegation zone. The team also are riding the momentum of beating Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup.

Amazulu beat Horoya Athletic Club, Usuthu produce a gutsy display to open their account against Guinean outfit

Benni McCarthy’s Amazulu side has their first points in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League. Usuthu beat Horoya Athletic Club 1-0 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban thanks to a brilliant finish by Luvuyo Memela.

The midfielder produced something akin to a Bobby Firmino or Cristiano Ronaldo finish, as he neatly spun, and with his back to goal, neatly flicked the ball behind him and into the net, Sports Brief monitored.

The superb finish came after some nice build-up play by Amazulu's midfielders, with Augustine Mulenga drilling in the low cross which Memela scored. The goal came at the half-hour mark and Amazulu held onto the lead for the win.
