Barcelona and Real Madird have intensified their efforts in their chase of Borussia Dortmund striker, Erling Haaland ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Norwegian striker has been on the radar of top European teams for his impressive display for the German club since arriving in 2019.
According to a report via Spanish news outlet Marca, both Barcelona and Real Madrid are preparing to make offers for Haaland.
The Spanish clubs have also remained in contact with the player's entourage to assure them that the interest is still very much present and alive.
Barca Universal reports Barcelona are also willing to pay out the striker’s €75 million release clause and the Catalan club is in a position to pay him €20m-per-year salary despite their financial issues.
Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are two other clubs believed to be interested in signing Haaland next summer but both teams haven’t made an offer yet to the Norwegian.
Haaland Injury issues a scare for prospective new club
Meanwhile, Erling Haaland was missing as Borussia Dortmund were walloped at home by Scottish side Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday, February 17.
The Norwegian striker had a muscular injury that ruled him out of the European tie and the striker looks set to miss out of this weekend’s encounter with Borussia Monchengladbach.
According to Manchester Evening News, this is Haaland’s third injury lay-off of the season and he has missed eight of 22 Bundesliga games, starting only 13.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Real Madrid will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on Deportivo Alavés in La Liga.

Alavés do come into the game on the back of a win, having beaten Valencia 2-1, their first win in three months.
