Troost-Ekong Sends Special Request to the NFF Ahead of Nigeria vs Ghana World Cup Final Playoffs

William Troost-Ekong has appealed to the Nigerian Football Federation chiefs to make the pitch of the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja conducive for football when they take on Ghana in March.

Following the conclusion of the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon where Nigeria crashed out in the round of 16 losing against Tunisia, Super Eagles are now focusing on the final World Cup playoffs against Ghana.

Ghana on the other hand did not also do well at the 2021 African Cup of Nations and the Black Stars will want to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

At the last World Cup in Russia, Super Eagles of Nigeria failed to qualify from the Group stage losing their final game against Argentina.

According to the report on Vanguard, William Troost-Ekong explained that himself and teammates enjoyed the pitch where they played in Garoua during the AFCON 2021.

William Troost-Ekong's message to the NFF

“We loved the pitch of the stadium in Garoua and it helped us play some good football. We would be delighted if the Abuja Stadium is in similar condition for the second leg.”

When will Nigeria be facing Ghana in March?

Ghana will be at home for the first leg against Nigeria on March 23, while the return leg will be played at the Abuja stadium six days later.

After losing their game against Strasbourg, Moses Simon and his teammates knew that a win would be suitable for them against Reims and they did themselves lots of good to get it.

Reims were down to 10 men in the 14th minute when Morocco defender Younis Abdelhamid was shown a straight red card.
