Al Ahly coach, Pitso Mosimane will be hoping that star midfielder, Percy Tau will be fit and back in action for his team’s clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Tau has been out of action since January when he picked up a muscle injury and has yet to return to training with the team.
The South African midfielder missed out on playing time during Al Ahly’s trip to the United Arab Emirates where they competed in the FIFA Club World Cup, with Mosimane adding that the player was disappointed not to have shown the world what he can do, The Citizen reported.

FootballMosimane added that he told Tau to focus his attention on helping Al Ahly defend their Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League title. Their campaign begins this week when they take on Al Hilal.
Their next game is against familiar foes in Mamelodi Sundowns. Sundowns will face their former coach in the Champions League on February 25 in Egypt and March 11 in South Africa.
Al Ahly though has confirmed that Tau would return to training with the team after their game against Al Hilal, iDiski Times reported. He would then have a week to prepare if he wanted to face his former side, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Tau was a Sundowns player before making the move to Brighton in the English Premier League. Sadly his career didn’t take off in England and he was eventually signed by Pitso Mosimane for Al Ahly.

Maboe suffered the injury in August 2021, before the start of the news season, and needed surgery. Doctors told the player that he would be out of action anywhere between six to nine months at that stage.
With games coming quick and fast in three different tournaments, Mamelodi Sundowns were bolstered by the news that Maboe has recovered and is fit to play once again. Maboe was added to the squad that travelled to Egypt this week ahead of their Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League clash against Sudan’s Al-Merrikh.
