FootballTransfer Guru Reveals Why Cristiano Ronaldo Won't Link up With Lionel Messi At PSG
- Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a switch to Paris Saint-Germain after a disappointing second stint with Man United
- Despite Ronaldo having an active contract with United, the veteran striker is believed to have set his sights on departing
- A move to PSG will see him share a dressing room with Lionel Messi, a scenario Di Marzio does not see happening
Transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio has dismissed the possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo linking up with long-time football rival, Lionel Messi, at Paris Saint-Germain.
Ronaldo is believed to be staring at an uncertain future at Man United, just months after he rejoined the club from Juventus.
According to reports, the five-time Ballon d'Or is unlikely to see out the rest of his contract at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo's options if he departs Man United
Despite his advanced age, Ronaldo will not fall short of options should he decide to depart the Red Devils.
It is understood PSG are among the leading contenders who could sign the 37-year-old once he ends his second Old Trafford stint.
Such a scenario would see the Portuguese international share a dressing room with Messi who moved to Parc des Princes last summer.
But can the transfer happen?
Whereas a number of fans would be interested to see Ronaldo and Messi play together, that possibility is very unlikely.
According to Di Marzio, the relationship between the two football icons is not great and Neymar, who is pals with Messi, would also struggle to share a dressing room with Ronaldo.
“I don’t think Messi wants to play with Ronaldo, and Ronaldo wants to play with Messi,” he told Wettfreunde.
“I don’t think PSG want the couple to play together, because the relationship between the two isn’t great. I don’t think the two want to play together and the club wants to have them together," Di Marzio added.
