Nigerian rave of the moment in the music industry, Davido, has fulfilled his promise as he disburses N250million to 292 orphanage homes across the country, Daily Post reports.
Back in November, Davido set the Nigerian social media space agog when he requested for N1million each from his friends and colleagues.
He received over N200million within days and later added N50million from his personal funds before announcing that he will disburse it to orphanages across the country.
Giving an update, Davido published names of orphanages that benefitted from the cash.
He said in a statement:
“I bring you an update as promised. Since its inauguration, the members of the committee have worked tirelessly to ensure that they collate the names and information of the documented and verified orphanages.
“So far, the total of N250m has been disbursed to 292 orphanages. I thought it wise to give you my loyal fans, friends and family an update in this regard.
“Thank you to everyone who made this possible. Thank you for your continuous support and prayer. Always remember, we rise by lifting others.”
A careful look at the post showed that the sum of N523,198 was disbursed to the Ighalo Orphanage Home where there are 21 children.

Meanwhile, Odion Ighalo has shown his generous nature as the striker built an orphanage in Lagos that looks after kids from humble backgrounds.

FootballThe facility which is located in Lagos, Nigeria, is estimated to cost around N500 million and is situated at the Ijegun area.
The orphanage was founded and fueled Ighalo's desire to make a difference in the lives of those who have had a rough start in life.
The former Manchester United striker had vowed to give back to society if he eventually became successful and now the striker has kept to his words.
Ighalo set for Super Eagles’ return
Sports Brief earlier reported that the president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has disclosed that Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia striker Odion Ighalo will return for the World Cup playoffs vs Ghana, Soccernet reports.
The Super Eagles will take on the Black Stars in March in a double-legged fixture and one of the teams will progress to the World Cup finals in Qatar.
Ighalo could not honour the national call up for the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon due to issues with the club.
