Wilfried Zaha capped off his Valentine’s day with a romantic proposal to his stunning girlfriend Paige Bannister.

The Crystal Palace winger took to Instagram to share an image of his wife-to-be’s hand with the expensive-looking engagement ring along with the caption,

“Love of my life.”

Earlier on Monday, Zaha had revealed to his followers that he was going on a romantic dinner with his lady but did not delve into too many details.

Photos of the dinner date have since emerged on social media and it is safe to say the Ivory Coast international outdid himself with his proposal.

The couple’s evening was characterized by a candle-lit dinner complete with red roses and the whole occasion ended with Zaha getting down on one knee.

Paige, clad in a stunning black dress, looked overwhelmed with emotion as she accepted to become the Crystal Palace winger’s wife.

She also shared the images on her social media page with the caption:

"I said YES!!

"Pop the champagne, I'm changing my last name."

Reaction from Zaha’s teammates

News of the engagement was met with a string of reactions from Zaha’s teammates, both past and present, as they all came together with the same message – congratulations.

Former Manchester United defender Rip Ferdinand, who had a brief timeline with Zaha at Old Trafford, also congratulated the winger.

Other notable names who clapped for Zaha on social media included Jeffrey Schlupp, Mile Jedinak, Tyrick Mitchell, Odsonne Edouard and Nathaniel Clyne.

The pair have been together since 2016 and their five-year relationship bore a son, Saint Laurence, in 2020.
