Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly engaging in gruelling training sessions in a bid to hit top form amid his worrying goal drought.

The Man United forward is currently on his longest goal drought since 2009 having failed to find the back of the net in his side's last outing against Southampton.

Ronaldo has now gone for six matches without a goal, with his last for United coming in a 3-1 home win against Burnley back on December 30.

The last time he went that long without a goal was in 2009 in the final months of his first Old Trafford stint.

The Portuguese talisman now appears to have changed his training schedule, with The Sun reporting the 37-year-old was the first to arrive and last to leave Carrington during Sunday's training session.

According to the publication, Ronny checked in at the facility at 9.20 am and did not leave until 2.20 pm.

The Portugal international penned a two-year contract on his second return to the Theatre of Dreams from Juventus.

Despite his frustrating goal drought, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has already scored 14 goals across competitions.

However, there are suggestions he could cut his stay short and leave the club in the summer after starting to feel his age.

Meanwhile, the ex-Real Madrid ace will be hoping to find the back of the net when United take on Brighton on Tuesday, February 15.
