Ghanaian Born English Striker Excited To Stay at Chelsea

Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has revealed he is more than happy to remain at Stamford Bridge after winning the Club World Cup.

Hudson-Odoi started the final against Palmeiras in Dubai on Saturday and even assisted Romelu Lukaku’s opener during their 2-1 triumph over the South American champions.

The versatile winger was close to switching to German side Dortmund, either on loan or permanently last year, after he failed to hold a place in Thomas Tuchel's setup.

But the German gaffer refused to let him go and kept the player at Stamford Bridge.

And, following Chelsea's win in the final, Hudson-Odoi has expressed his delight to stay with the Blues.

‘Big trophies like this are games you want to be involved in with a club like this,’ said Hudson-Odoi.
‘Big games, big trophies, you want to win as much as possible with a club like this. Our aim is always to win games and win as many as possible.
‘When we get the opportunity we keep pushing.
‘If I went out in the summer I wouldn’t get opportunities to play like this and enjoy the games and win trophies. So I’m really delighted that I stayed and obviously I got the opportunity to play.’

Kai Havertz was the man of the moment for Chelsea as the Blues cruised to a 2-1 against Palmeiras to win the FIFA Club World Cup on Saturday night, February 12.

The German forward netted the decisive penalty in the extra time for the thrilling clash to inspire Thomas Tuchel's men to glory.

The match looked destined for post-match penalties, having finished 1-1 during regulation time.

Tuchel dedicates FIFA Club World Cup trophy to Abramovic

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Thomas Tuchel had opened the lid on what he discussed with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich during the FIFA Club World Cup final.

Asked what he told Abramovich, Tuchel revealed he used the opportunity to dedicate the trophy to the Chelsea owner due to his "input and passion."
