Asamoah Gyan, one of Africa's greatest footballers, has sent a good will message to South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns as they begin their CAF Champions League group stage campaign.
The South African champions began their group stage adventure with a win against Sudanese side Al Hilal at the Royal Bafokeng on Friday, February 11, 2022.
Asamoah Gyan, who has been in South Africa since January, in a video posted on Twitter, charged the players to go all out for success.
"I just want to wish them luck, Mamelodi Sundowns is suddenly becoming a giant in African football," he said.
"Talking locally too they are on top of the league. You see everything their doing they have a vision and their vision is great. The infrastructure and everything. They deserve everything they are earning now. So I will wish them luck in the future and everything they are doing," he added.
Themba Zwane's eight minute strike earned Sundowns all three points in their group opener.

Themba Zwane nets winner as Sundowns beat Al Hilal
Earlie, Sports Brief reported that Mamelodi Sundowns got their continental cup campaign off to a winning start, beating Sudan’s Al Hilal 1-0.
Sundowns took on Al Hilal at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in the opening game of Group A of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League.
That changed suddenly when Themba Zwane pounced on a mistake at the back to finish smartly past the keeper. The goal came in the eight-minute against the run of play, but Sundowns slowly grew more into the game after taking the lead.
