Everton attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi has showered praises on Everton manager Rafa Benitez for his improved form in the English topflight this season, GOAL reports.
Iwobi has shown class at the start of the season scoring a goal and assisting one for Everton in the Premier League during this campaign.
The former Arsenal sensation has impressed under Benitez who replaced Carlo Ancelotti back in June, and has played in all their matches this season.
He referenced the manager’s training session which has been impactful for his form in recent times. Alex Iwobi told Everton TV via The Sun
“The manager is always talking to me and trying to help me. It's helped me a lot so far this season.
“It’s not just me, of course, but the whole team [he speaks to]. My confidence is playing a big part, too. I’m pushing a bit more up the field and getting involved in attacks.
“I just need to add more goals and assists, like the manager wants. With the manager, he doesn’t give us any rest, he’s onto us 24/7. This is what we need.
“You can see everyone’s playing with a lot of confidence. That big motivation is there [to continue achieving positive results].”
Iwobi, Iheanacho shine as Nigeria defeat Liberia in World Cup qualifier
Super Eagles duo Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi were awarded N1 million each after helping Nigeria beat Liberia 2-0 triumph in their 2022 World Cup qualifier at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
Leicester City forward Iheanacho was named the man of the match after scoring the two goals that propelled the three-time African champions to the summit of the Group C table.
Everton attacker Iwobi on the other hand was named the Most Valuable Player of the match for his impressive display all through his stay on the pitch.
Super Eagles star Osimhen available for Napoli vs Juventus clash
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is now eligible to play Napoli’s Serie A showdown against Juventus scheduled for Saturday, September 11 at the Diego Amando Maradona stadium.
The Napoli striker won the appeal to reduce his two-match ban after he was sent off in Napoli’s opening game of the campaign against Venezia.
The Nigerian youngster was initially handed a two-match ban and missed Napoli’s win against Genoa, but reports say Osimhen’s suspension has now been halved from two games to one, so he will be available to play against Juventus on Saturday.
